The Epic X is a collection defined by its unmistakable design, contemporary style and high-end watchmaking solutions. Every Epic X is a statement-piece: a bold combination of traditional and high-tech materials, exclusive and highly refined calibers, and a truly Epic aesthetic that is immediately recognizable and yet remarkably versatile. From sporty and rugged to precious and elegant, every Epic X is as striking as it is multifaceted.

Defined by the iconic X-shaped lugs and dial appliqués, the Epic X Chrono features integrated design-, and engineering solutions for ultimate comfort, functionality and style. Its complex case is full of exquisite details, lending it its bespoke aesthetic and inimitable feel. The smoked mineral crystal dial and case-back allow for a peek into the Exclusive JCAA05 chronograph caliber and its beautifully finished details. The open-worked rubber straps allow for ventilation and flow seamlessly into the lugs and case-band, all to create a sublimely comfortable fit around the wrist.

The Epic X Chrono is an extraordinarily capable and highly exclusive timepiece in its every variation, especially this sporty, lightweight and colorful Grade 5 Titanium Sky Blue model.

THE APPEAL OF THE CHRONOGRAPH

Chronographs are one of the most popular complications in watchmaking and are used in timepieces for both men and women. There is something about the chronograph that captures people's imagination and, as such, this complication is certainly in high demand.

Using a chronograph is easy and fun, and very functional. The chronograph is something you can use to measure the time, not just to read the time. Due to this, you have an interaction with the watch. Interactivity makes things completely different, since you are doing something, not just reading something. By doing this, you cannot control the time, but you are heading in that direction.

Chronographs are very popular because they offer a very accessible complication and one whose standard layout is very attractive.

The Epic X Chrono is purpose-built, so it has a technical, sporty style with the chronograph pushers on the side of the case, the balanced bi-compax dial, and the view into the movement through the mineral crystal dial.

EXCLUSIVE CHRONOGRAPH CALIBER

The exclusive Jacob & Co JCAA05 caliber is partially revealed both on the dial, as well as the case-back side of the Epic X Chrono through smoked crystals. The 260-component caliber offers a combination of highly refined movement decorations on the bridges, self-winding rotor, mainspring barrel, and column wheel.

The column-wheel controls the functioning of the chronograph mechanism inside the Epic X Chrono. Start, stop and reset are all governed by this beautifully hand-finished component: angled, polished and drawn, and fully on show on the case-back side of the JCAA05. Sitting over the exclusive JCAA05 caliber is the anthracite oscillating rotor for the automatic winding of the movement, with red lacquered Jacob & Co Genève engraving. Further decorations include beveled and polished edges on the bridges, perlage circular graining, as well as the open-worked construction of the mainspring barrel, all beautifully executed.

CASE & CRYSTAL

Bold design meets precious and high-end materials to create the immediately recognizable aesthetic of the Epic X - a watch exterior that is like no other. Comprising 61 components, the Epic X Chrono case measures 47mm wide and 14mm thick, and is water resistant to a depth of 200 meters - a true testament to the complexity of the design, as well as its highly engineered and equally robust architecture.

This version of the Epic X Chrono is crafted from Grade 5 Titanium. The crowns are wrapped and the profile of the angular lugs are set with high-precision rubber inserts, adding distinctive dashes of color and a superior tactile experience. The front and the case-back are covered by anti-reflective sapphire crystals, with the addition of tinted blue mineral crystals for the dial and the case-back, for a characteristic Epic X look.

DIAL & HANDS

The blue-tinted mineral glass dial of the Epic X Chrono reveals the dial side of the beautifully constructed JCAA05 self-winding chronograph caliber. In the top left portion of the dial, the balance wheel is revealed, while at the 6 o'clock position the open-worked mainspring barrel and its fully wound mainspring can be seen, keeping the Epic X Chrono powered up and running on time. "Jacob & Co Genève" marks the dark tinted, partially transparent crystal dial of the Epic X Chrono, flanked by the beautifully crafted X-shaped dial elements, exclusive to the Epic X collection.

Skeletonized hands with Super-LumiNova luminescent tips indicate the time in tandem with a rotating inner timing bezel on the Epic X Chrono, adjusted via the crown at the 10 o'clock position. Fascinating engineering solutions and true dedication to the highest standards of functionality and wearing comfort are reflected in these smallest of details.
