Jacob Arabo’s passion for jewelry began early as a young boy growing up in Russia. After migrating to the United States, Jacob, age 16, enrolled in a jewelry design course to develop his natural talents. Immediately recognizing his obvious gifts and ability, his instructors encouraged him to leave the course.

Opening a small booth in NYC’s famed Diamond District, Jacob was soon designing his unique pieces for a number of jewelry labels and private clients. Finally, in 1986, Jacob opened his business and began designing products under his brand, JACOB & Co. In the mid-1990’s, up and coming R&B singer Faith Evans happened upon Jacob’s shop while seeking jewels for her upcoming album. Completely taken by Jacob’s unique creations she returned with her husband, the late Notorious BIG. Becoming loyal costumers, they recommended Jacob to a host of their high profile friends, spawning a buzz throughout the music industry which continues to resonate today.

Soon, ‘Jacob the Jeweler’ became the go-to-guy for jewels throughout the music, entertainment, fashion and sports world, with the biggest names in the business becoming faithful clients of Jacob’s.

With the launch in December 2004 of JACOB & Co.’s new flagship store, situated on prestigious 57th Street, JACOB & Co. has emerged as a new presence in Manhattan’s preeminent and exclusive luxury fashion stronghold.

The store’s concept is modeled after Strata- the natural rock formations in which precious gems are found. This state-of-the-art jewelry complex includes the retail area, private consultation rooms, and VIP lounge complete with 50 LED flat-screen televisions to further enhance the interactive experience of the client. It is through this dedication to excellence and detail that JACOB & Co. continues to grow in the United States as well as in the global market.
